Islamabad: Pakistan A defeated Afghanistan by five wickets at a ground in Islamabad in the first match of their series on Wednesday.
Pakistan got Afghanistan all out for 152 in the 38th over. Mohammad Nabi scored 72 and Nawroz Mangal 33. All other batsmen failed to impress. Mohammad Talha took three wickets while Sohail Tanvir, the captain, and Sadaf Hussain took two each.
Pakistan achieved the target in the 40th over. Sharjeel Khan scored 47 and test discard Umar Amin managed 29. Dawlat Zadran got three wickets.
The next match will be played at Rawalpindi on Friday.
