Karachi: Inspector General Police Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari has put the security in Karachi and Sindh on high alert, following a tip off a terrorist threat.
IGP Sindh said that said that terrorists want to disturb the economy and the law and order situation in Karachi.
He directed the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Hyderabad and Capital City Police Office (CCPO) Karachi to beef up the security at important facilities and government buildings along with security for VVIPs and foreign nationals.
The IGP Sindh ordered the security to be tightened on the entry and exit routes of the city. He directed a high security at shopping malls, mosques, shrines and public places. He also advised the all the police departments to be more active in their intelligence networks.
