Buenos Aires: All 22 passengers on board were killed when a Argentinean plane crashed in country’s southern Patagonia region, news agencies reported in Thursday.
Reports say the plane operated by regional airline Sol went down in the province of Rio Negro, near the town of Prahuaniyeu.
Of the 22 on board Sol flight number 5428, 19 were passengers, including one person under the age of 21, and three were crew members, according to a statement issued by the company.
It said that air traffic controllers lost contact with the flight after its pilot sent an emergency call at 8:50 p.m. local time.
Ambulances and firefighting units were sent to the scene of the crash, in a hard-to-reach desert area of Patagonia with few roads, local television reported.
