Islamabad: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that US drone attacks and violation of Pakistani airspace by the Nato helicopters in the presence of Senator John Kerry in the country mocked the resolution passed by the joint session of the Parliament.Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said that the government has not taken the opposition into confidence regarding its new agreement with the US to launch joint operation against high value targets in Pakistan. “We do not accept the secret agreement with the US,” Nisar said.
The opposition leader lamented that lawmakers form the government benches were making secret joint session’s proceedings public and providing false news to media.  “ I will reveal the truth about the joint session if they do not stop issuing such statements,” he warned.
He said that work should be started to form independent commission soon. He said that the PML-N would start consultations in this regard on Wednesday. He said that names of seven personalities belonging to media, judiciary and civil society have been chosen by his party and would be forwarded to the government.
Nisar said that people were kept unaware about the proceeding of joint session while there was nothing to be kept secret except one point.
He added that the parliamentarians were provided with the copies of a resolution at the start of the joint session by the foreign office which he refused to sign.
“Points regarding drone attacks, Nato supplies and review of relations with the US were included in the resolution on our recommendations,”  Nisar said.
He maintained that the resolution was of no use if the government signed a secret deal with the US regarding joint operation in pursuit of high value targets.
