Guyana: West Indies wrapped up Pakistan by 40 runs in the first Test of two-match series at Providence Stadium, Guyana on Sunday.
West Indian skipper Darren Sammy cracked Pakistani batting line and grabbed five wickets in the second inning of the match. Pakistan’s side was all out on 178 runs on the forth day of the match. Ravi Rampaul picked up four wickets while Kemar Roach got one wicket in the second inning.
Pakistan’s new Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq scored 52 runs and who was the only half century scorer of the match from both sides. Umer Akmal and Asad Shafiq scored 47and 42 runs respectively.
West Indies gave 219 runs target to Pakistan for winning the match. Earlier, West Indies scored 226 runs in the first inning and 152 runs in the second inning. While Pakistan, scored 160 and 178 runs respectively in the first and second inning of the match.
Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal took 11 wickets in the match, five in the first and six in the second inning of the match.
West Indian Darren Sammy was declared man of the match over his good bowling performance.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan has never won a single Test series against Caribbean side in West Indies.
