Islamabad: Pakistani Intelligence officials have visited Chak Shah Muhammad, a deserted and mountainous village in Haripur district near Abbottabad garrison town, in a bid to locate an alleged residence of Osama bin Laden where he had stayed for two years.
Sources said that one of Osama’s wives who is in the custody of intelligence agencies has told the investigators about the alleged residence.
The sources said that Osama’s wife told the investigators the al-Qaeda chief also had a residence in the area where he had been living during his alleged five-year stay in the country, which has been battling Taliban and al-Qaeda led insurgency as frontline state and a prominent ally against global terror threat.
The sources told The News Tribe that the investigators were collecting information in the low-populated area, where houses are located far distance from each other; however they have found no clue regarding Osama’s alleged hideout.
The villagers also denied to have seen any foreigner or stranger in the area.
