Sialkot: Eight gamblers involved in giving threats to Zulqernain Haider, former Pakistani wicket-keeper who fled London through Dubai during the series against South Africa, were arrested while a large number of mobile phones were also recovered from their position, said a police official.
Superintendent of Police Investigation Sialkot Nasir Qureshi said that the gamblers were arrested from Sambaryal area of Sialkot, the eastern city of Pakistan. The police have also recovered 250 mobile phones from their possession, he added.
The SP investigation said that the gamblers during investigation given threats to police that they are very powerful and all the players were in their hands.
