Karachi: Former Home Minister Sindh Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza, who was considered as strong man of Sindh because of close ties with President of Pakistan, has been sent on long leave, CM Sindh has confirmed. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah will take additional responsibilities of Sindh Home Minister.
Zulfikar Mirza said, “despite all pressures, I worked honestly for three years,” Dawn News reported. Mirza was famous for his controversial statements.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been showed their concerns several times in past regarding Mirza’s controversial statements. MQM had demanded President of Pakistan to remove Mirza from his post because he was instigating the masses through his controversial statements.
Qaim Ali Shah after meeting with Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan said Mirza is being sent to leave but he did not inform the duration of the leave.
Sources said Mirz is expected to be made senator but it is not confirmed by any government official.
