Nau Dero, Sindh: The 32nd death anniversary of Pakistan Peoples Party’s founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto is being commemorated on Monday.
The central ceremony was organized at Garhi Khuda Buksh, the home town of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on late Sunday night. Two minute silence was also kept in the remembrance of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party founder.
Pakistan President and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari while addressing the ceremony said that he was proud of fulfilling the commitment and promise of ZA Bhutto to the people. Zardari vowed the he would become history, not headline of any newspaper.
He said he was the political inheritor of ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, the daughter of ZA Bhutto. “I am here to make some further promises to the people,” he said.
Asif said they are going to correct the history and reopening of ZA Bhutto case would be a milestone in this regard. ZA Bhutto was a victim of judicial and political murder, he added.
Zardari said following the vision of the PPP founder he transferred the powers to the parliament and restored judiciary after releasing them from jails. He hailed the role of PPP workers regarding to restoration of judiciary.
Zardari was of the view that he is enjoying presidency because of the supports, which was bestowed to him by the murder of two Bhuttos, Benazir and ZA Bhutto.
He said he is working 14 hours a day while Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani works 12 hours a day to resolve masses problems.
Criticizing the role of “political actors” he said that the elements are now seem active and are busy in misguiding Pakistani youth. He said some political actors wanted to disgrace role of PPP and its leadership.
He said if Pakistan People Party would organise next parliamentary election on time and if nation would reject us then we would gratify to sit in opposition. He vowed that next general election would be free and transparent.
