Faisalabad: Eldest brother of Faheem, one of the two Pakistanis shot dead by Raymond Davis, has revealed that they faced a lot of pressure from day one for taking Diyat (blood money) and if they had not taken compensation, Pakistan could have become another Libya.
During an interview to a Pakistani TV channel on Friday night, he said, “we were warned against coming in front of public or media”. He said, “we had done all this in the national interest.”
He said they did not involve in direct deal with America but government of Pakistan is involved in the deal. He said he did not know about the role of Punjab government in the deal but every one knows about its role very well.
Akram disclosed that all the family members were safe and sound and would come in front of nation on suitable time. They were not coming in front of media because of security concern.
He stated that Davis was an important American member and he would has been released whether compensation taken or not. They had informed about all the negative and positive aspects of the issue so they did nothing wrong because Islam gives permission to take blood money.
Faheem’s brother said Riaz Advocate, lawyer of Lahore High Court, was not there lawyer in the case. Answering the questions of the people and understand our problems are very complicated.
He said his younger brother Mohammad Waseem was handling the issue in public and media he could inform well about the case. He said he lives separate from other family members but he has in telephonic contact with them.
Meanwhile, local sources said that Punjab government has continuously denied that they were not involved in the deal and they did not know where the relatives of both families are? But two police mobiles have been seen deploying on the security of the relatives of Faheem.
On the other hand, uncle of Faheem’s wife Shumaila, Afzal disclosed that they had been kept unaware from all the deal and had not been taken in confidence while dealing the case.
