Islamabad: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan People’s Party, ruling party in Pakistan, has always tired to strengthen media and his wife and former prime minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto (Late) had always showed democratic culture to strengthen media.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Monday evening he said media is free to choose its rules and regulation itself. Media should also select a person who would lead it, he added.
He said PPP wanted to strengthen and stable institutions in Pakistan. He said everyone should have to work collectively to strengthen media in the country.
The president said Benazir had linked Pakistan with globe through cable. Benazir had first removed ban on newspapers in 1988, he stated.
Zardari said PPP apart dictator from rule peacefully.
