Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday issued notices to the Election Commissioner, Nadra and Attorney General to submit reply to the court in connection with the bogus voter list case within 10 days .
A division bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up the petition moved by a journalist Mubbashir Luqman through his lawyer Zafa Ali Advocate, seeking removal of bogus voters form the voter lists.
The petition stated that more than 35 million votes out of 80 million voter’s list of Nadra are bogus.
The CJ during the hearing remarked that the issue of bogus voter lists was of national importance.
