Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani once again has refused to comply with Supreme Court’s orders regarding removal of Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wasim Ahemd.
Establishment Division secretary on Friday told the court that there were some difficulties in removing DG FIA as he was overseeing important matters.
On this Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that the court could remove the difficulties itself.
Establishment Division Counsel Abdul Hafeez Peerzada prayed that the hearing be adjourned for some time so that he could speak to the PM into the matter.
A larger bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the Haj Corruption case when it took up the matter of contractual officers working in the four provinces.
A report was submitted in the court by the Khyber Pukhtunkha government stating that 14 contract officers had been working in the KP that had been removed in the wake of the apex court orders.
The CJ appreciated the KP government’s move.
