Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that if security lapse in Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassination is proved he is ready to resign from his position.
Speaking in the National Assembly he said that Religious Affairs Minister was provided with 15 well trained security guards. He added that though a bullet proof car was send to Bhatti, he refused to use it as saying it was a second-hand car.
Mailk said Bhatti had been receiving life threats, adding that he was ready to resign in the larger interest of the country as his security negligence is proved.
The minister said that those who were criticizing him should explain why had not resigns at the time of Punjab governor Salman Taseer’s assassination as Punjab government was responsible to provide him security.
Citing Jamshed Dasti’s statement in which he urged him to resgin, Malik said that his statement showed that he has some physiological problems.
He said that his name was placed in the top list of terrorists.
