Islamabad: Power distribution companies have been allowed to increase tariff by 33 paisa per unit by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday.
The approval has been granted on account of fuel adjustment surcharge (FAS).
Power distribution companies had requested Nepra to raise the tariff by 39 paisas per unit. But it approved a hike of 33 paisas per unit.
Nepra on Thursday said that the new tariff will be implemented in the February 2011 bills.
It may be mentioned here that the new tariffs will not affect customers of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
