Karachi: Chairman Pakistan International Airline’s Pilot Association (PALPA) Sohail Baloch has demanded of the government to sack PIA Managing Director (MD) Captain Ejaz Haroon and cancel the proposed commercial arrangement between the national flag-carrier and Turkish Airline.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday along with office bearers of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), an umbrella of various PIA’s union, he said that the MD had proved that he was not able to run the national airline.
Baloch demanded that the sack pilots be restored immediately, adding that they are able to operate the PIA and there was no need to hand over the airline to the Turkish Airline.
Applauding the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani order to form a committee to resolve the issue, he said that the PALPA had not closed doors of negotiation and its delegation would leave for Islamabad to resolve the issue soon.
Meanwhile, several national and international flights were canceled due to the PIA’s employees protest at different airports of the country.
