London: A man hurled a shoe towards former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf when addressing a gathering in London on Sunday, The News Tribe Reported.
The incident happened in East London when a man hurled a shoe on Musharraf but failed to reach the stage. After the incident security persons took the man out of the gathering.
The man, when being taken out, chanted slogans in favour of Dr. Afia Siddiqui, who is presently in US detention.
Trend of hurling stones started out with Former US President Bush who was attacked by a journalist in Iraq while current Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari had the same fate last year and now have Musharraf who was under attack. Others who were attacked are Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Chinese premier Wen Jiabao.
