Kabul: Afghan National Army (ANA) have arrested six Taliban since Friday morning, a statement released by Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
“Soldiers of Afghan National Army during operations over the past 24 hours have detained six anti-government insurgent and dismantled four militants’ hideouts elsewhere in the country,” said the statement.
Troops during the operation, covered parts of southern Kandahar, Helmand and eastern Nangarhar provinces, also found and destroyed 13 mines besides founding seven barrel of explosives liquid, it said.
The statement also confirmed that two ANA soldiers were injured during military operations in country’s Badghis province 555 km northwest of capital Kabul. However, it said that the injured troopers were in stable condition.
Taliban militants who have intensified their assaults against Afghan and international troops have yet to make comment.
