Ibna: Terrorist attacks are not jihad and its perpetrators are companion of evil (Shaitan), said Sheikh Al Fawazan, a member of Saudi Ulema Council.
“A Muslim who believes in Allah and doomsday should not commit a suicidal attack,” he said, terming all violent attacks as “destructive process” being carried out in the name of Jihad.
The Saudi scholar said Jihad has certain conditions and limitations; however, what is happening today has nothing to do with the religious duty and condemned the recent bomb attack in an Egyptian Church.
Here are some excerpts from Sheikh Al Fawazan’s interview with an Arab website.
Osama bin laden is a Khuwarji; beware of him (Sheikh Al Fawazan)
Q: It’s no more secret that Osama bin Laden is playing role in promoting violence on earth. Considering this, can we call him “Khuwarij”?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: Whoever adopts this ideology and invites others to follow the same is Khuwarij irrespective of the name of the doer.
He who did this actually challenging the authorities declared Muslims as disbeliever “kafir”.
Q: Then, why don’t you issue a “Fatwa” on behalf of Saudi Ulema Council for people especially young Muslim so that they stay away from Osama, Al- Zahwari and Alfaqeeh?
Sheik Al Fawazan: The council has condemned their actions several times in the past and never acknowledged the people who planned such activities. Every one knows that Osama, Alfaqeeh and Almisreeh are part of it, he added .
Bomb blasts in Muslim countries
Q: Are the people involved in bomb blasts taking place in Muslim countries also part of Khuwarjeen?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: All these actions fall in the category of Khuwarjeen. History tells us that they have never done it the past. They were used to fight Muslims in battlefields, target sleeping people and demolish their houses. I believe the destruction being carried out by Osama and others today is much more than that of Khuwarjeen.
Osama and his companions changed their path
Q: Are Osama and Alfaqeeh part of those who get themselves separated from Islam? And what’s your opinion about the people who said that Sheikh Bin Baaz never talked against Osama bin laden and the ‘Fatwa’ related to him in this regard is fake?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: As far as Osama, Alfaqeeh and others are concerned you develop your opinion after observing their actions and activities, and you people should do so whatever they have done in past and, you should condemned them for their anti-Islamic and anti-human activities.
Coming to second part of the question, he said people who rejected the Fatwa of Sheikh Bin Baaz and called it false are liar themselves. We personally heard that Fatwa from Sheikh Bin Baaz and I made it public. So the bottom-line is whoever calls it false is actually cheater.
Terrorists who attacked on Saudi land (Hejaz Sharif) are worse than Khuwarjeen
Q: Can we call the people involved in bomb blast in Hejaz Sharif as rebels and Khuwarjeen?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: Yes they are worse, because Khuwarjeen have never been involved in such activities. They were not used to either enter or demolish houses while inmates fall asleep, and kill children. Such people look like Qaramteen as they did so in the past.
Suicidal bombers are hypocrite
Q: What’s you opinion about suicidal bombers and those involved in bomb blasts?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: People who are either involved in bomb blasts and suicidal attacks or support such activities are hypocrites and companions of criminals.
Astral groups are their supporters.
Q: Some astral groups support people like Osama and others, and give their opinion in favour of them. They believe sees such acts as good deeds. What do you think about such people and should they be acknowledged?
Sheikh Al Fawazan: What are good deeds? How will you define it? Is blowing innocent people and their homes up and creating atmosphere of fear good deed? Actually these can not be called as good deeds and those who defend and support such acts are companions of people like Osama.
Although they are not directly involved in these activities, but Muslims should stay away from such people because all they want to do just simply support Qaramteen.
