Tunis: Tunisia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi has vowed that he would leave politics after elections, news agencies reported.
In a TV interview, he said that he would quit in the shortest possible timeframe.
Ghannouchi’s interim government has promised to hold elections within six months.He was a key ally to ousted President Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali, and has been struggling to restore calm under the new national unity government.
In his interviews on Friday he said that all anti-democratic laws would be repealed by the new unity government.
It may be mentioned here that the interim government has not announced date of new polls so far.
