New York: The Ex-Blackwater honcho Erick prince has signed a multimillion-dollar project with a controversial private mercenary firm in lawless, chaotic Somalia, an American daily reported.
Reports said that Ex-Blackwater chief is involved in recruiting and training thousands of Somalis to protect pirates and militants. Although, his role is not clear in the prevailing situation critics expressed concerns that the using of unaccountable private contractors will undermine international efforts to eliminate militancy in Somalia.
However, the director of Maritime Underwater Security Consultants welcomes Prince’s involvement and said that there were 34 nations with naval assets trying to stop piracy and it could be stopped on land. “”With Prince’s background and rather illustrious reputation, I think it’s quite possible that it might work.” He added
