ISLAMABAD: Member National Assembly from Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Kamran Khan on late Thursday night disclosed that four senators bought eight votes by Rs 60 million in 2009.
While talking to a private news channel, Kamran said that two ministers, in the recent cabinet were become senators after purchasing votes.
He said that he had also sold his vote for ten million of rupees.
Commenting over the issue, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Pervaiz Rasheed has said that it is a shameful act but he did not know about any one involved in this bribery. He said that only kamran Khan can disclose the name of those, who were involved in such nefarious practice.
Kanwar Dilshad Former Secrataery Election Commission of Pakistan has said that according to the constitution, imprisonment for three years would be given to the culprits of bribery. He said Election Commission is authorized to disqualify the members who found guilty in such case.
He also said that the members who sold their votes would also be disqualified.
Kamran Khan further said that Jirga has been called to resolve the issue. He said the bribery cannot be eliminated without bringing revolutionary changes in the system.
