Faisalabad: Gas supply to industrial units of Faisalabad, known for its textiles worldwide, has been suspended for four days, under the load management plan, on Friday.
The supply would remain suspended from Jan 7-10, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) authorities said.
The suspension of gas supply to industrial units of Faisalabad, also known as the Manchester of Pakistan, rendered hundreds of daily-wage workers jobless.
Industrialists have strongly criticised the decision, saying that the gas loadshedding was adversely affecting the production of already under stress industrial sector.
