Islamabad: Supreme Court on Thursday disposed of the case of missing prisoners of Adiayala Jail with the observations that Army and its subordinate institutions were working under the law and the Constitution.During the hearing on Thursday, the three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, observed that as now the prisoners had surfaced and they were being treated as per the law, the case is disposed off.
The relatives of the 11 persons, who went missing on May 28 when they were released from Adiyala Jial after being exonerated by Lahore High court on terrorism charges, have approached the apex court accusing the spy agencies of abducting them from outside of the jail.

When the court served notices on the spy masters of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence after an affidavit submitted by Chief Secretary Punjab pointing fingers toward the spy agencies that they had picked up the prisoners from outside the Adiyala Jail, initially the spy masters submitted affidavits statting that the prisoners were not in custody of in any of the agencies. However, when the court press the matters, they were compelled to admit before the court that the prisoners were in their custody.
The missing prisoners are Dr Niaz Ahmed, Mazharul Haq, Shafiqur Rehman, Mohammad Aamir, Syed Abdul Majid, Abdul Basit, Syed Abdul Saboor, Shafique Ahmed, Saeed Arab, Gulroze and Tehseenullah.
