New York: The United Nations and international community have strongly condemned assassination of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer and called his murder as great loss for Pakistan.
Salman Taseer was killed in Pakistani capital by his own guard on Tuesday.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a statement condemned the assassination of Taseer and said that he was a great politician.
EU Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton expressed her condolences and demanded of the Pakistani government to bring the culprits to book.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague has also condemned the assassination and expressed his sympathy with Pakistani government.
French government in a statement said that Salman Taseer was a brave politician and was among the great politicians in the world.
US Secretary of Sate Hillary Clinton condemned Taseer’s assassination and admired his work to promote tolerance and education in Pakistan.
