Karachi: Pakistan would witness the first solar eclipse of the year today.
Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced that the eclipse would be seen partially in various areas of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad.
Eclipse will begin at 02:04 pm, reaching its peak at 02:58 and ending at 03:25pm. First solar eclipse of the year would also be seen in Europe, North America and Middle East.
There will be four solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses in 2011. All the solar eclipse will be partial. Three out of four solar eclipses will occur in Asia.
Meanwhile experts have warned that watching solar eclipse with naked eye can severely damage the eyesight.
