RAJANPUR: Operation Aahan by Punjab Police lead by Inspector General (IG) Punjab has entered 17th day and police has failed to bring down the notorious Chotu Gang.
Police is sustaining heavy damages however is unable to commence a large scale air strike due to the hostage policemen. Chotu Gang operates from the Chah Bangla island in River Indus. Use of sophisticated heavy weapons by Chotu Gang is also been reported earlier.

Chotu Gang held 22 policemen hostage and later released 4 injured policemen after the warning that if the operation is not stopped they will start killing hostages one by one. The gang now demands that their accomplices should be released and the operation should be ended.
Police also sustained 7 deaths including that of the Chah Bangla area S.H.O Hanif Ghauri. Muhammad Tariq, Amanullah, Muhammad Ajmal, Ubaidullah and Muhammad Shakeel are also reported dead during the operation.
Injured policemen were shifted to Sheikh Zaid Hospital where they are currently under treatment.
