KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies have presented the accused Kazim Rizvi, alleged murderer of Advocate Naimat Ali Randhawa, before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday.
According to Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Shahid Hayat, the alleged murderer have affiliation with largest political party of Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM); he was arrested on yesterday over charges of killing Advocate Naimat Ali Randhawa and possessing illegal weapons.
The accused person was taken to the court under tight security given by Rangers officials as it is seen by the first time that paramilitary officials presented in the court along with a criminal.
Kazim Abbas Rizvi was given specific time to meet his lawyer before commencement of the hearing in ATC, subsequently, Rizvi taken to the court.
The accused person detailed himself before the ATC that he is matriculate and diploma holder in electrical curriculum as well as performing his professional duties in Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB).
Rizvi’s lawyer told the court that his client even don’t know in which case he has been arrested by the law enforcement agencies.
The lawyer complained for the negative behaviour of police officials and he claimed that complete time of meeting was not given to Rizvi as a police officer pulled him to the court after only 5 minutes.
He added that the court should take notice over police attitude whom are politicising the issue.
The ATC gave the accused person to Rangers and police on physical remand of 14 days till October 18. Rizvi will be presented to the court again after Eid-ul-Adha 2013 event.
Earlier on yesterday, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Shahid Hayat said that police have arrested the killer of advocate Naimat Ali Randhawa and the arrested person have affiliations with MQM while four other suspects arrested on the indications of the accused.
AIG added that Rizvi also involved in targeted killings of eight other people and police officials recovered 9MM pistol with five rounds from his possession.
Advocate Naimat Ali Randhawa was a senior lawyer and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s legal wing leader. He was pursuing for a journalist, Wali Khan Babar, killing case but shot dead in an attack by miscreants in Karachi’s Nazimabad area while his son was injured.
A journalist linked with a Pakistani private television channel, Wali Khan Baber, was killed in January 2011 in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area while several witnesses were also stamped out individually in different incidents.
