Karachi: Germany has urged Pakistan to rethink its decision of not attending Bonn Conference in Germany next week as it would prove productive in Islamabad’s presence.
Germany says it was not officially informed about the decision by Pakistan officially and was waiting for Islamabad’s final decision.
German Chancellor Angela Markel  on Thursday called Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and urged him to rethink the decision.
She said Pakistan could ask its ambassador to Germany to attend the moot on Afghanistan’s future scheduled to be held next week.
Gilani told German leader that Pakistan could not attend the moot in the given circumstances and the final decision would be taken by the Parliamentary Committee on the National Security.
Pakistan decided not to participate in the meeting in Germany on Afghanistan’s future after transition of power to Afghans after its outposts were attacked by Nato war planes and choppers in Mohmand Agency that killed at least two dozen of its soldiers.
Pakistan also suspended Nato supplies in reaction to the attack.
