Cairo: Egyptian President Honsi Mubarak has announced that he would not stand for president in the September’s election but he was not leaving his office till next election.
He said this while addressing the nation on late Tuesday night. He said these protests have been manipulated by political forces.
The president said Egypt is passing through a difficult time. He said that new government would respond to young peoples’ demands.
Mubarak said his first priority is to restore law and order situation in the country. He said some political forces rejected the invitation to dialogue.
US envoy conveyed the message of President Obama that he should not participate in the next election, said sources.
He asked parliament to speed up election process in the country. He said he is proud of his long years of serving to Egypt.
At the other hand, bout six million protesters rejected Mubarak’s announcement, saying they would not return to their homes until Mubarak leaves his office.
Later, United States Persident Barack Obamas while giving a press statement from Washington over the issue of Ggypt said that time has come to bring changes in Egypt and changes should be according to the aspiration of Egyptian.
He said Egypt has entered into a new era and Egyptian will now decide their future their selves.
