Hyderabad: Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the government should expedite relief efforts for flood victims and declare affected areas as calamity-hit in Sindh.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Sunday, Nawaz said that he was particularly talking about farmers because they were looking towards the government for help and we have to help them harvest crops in the next season.
The PML-N chief said all stakeholders need to convene a meeting in order to save the country and his party would be a part of that parley.
He said that the government had announced to pay compensation of Rs100,000 to each flood victim but so far they had only provided Rs25,000.
He said that those who are involved in the Karachi unrest are talking more about the city on media, adding that peace in the metropolis should be restored.
He said the provincial authorities should set an example by providing all the necessary relief to the flood victims.
Nawaz said that today’s Pakistan is not the same as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, adding that Musharraf was a coward man therefore he accepted all the demands of America.
He said that if we can become atomic power then we can do anything.
