Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday the name of 28 players for Central Contact from July to December 2011 while Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik are not included in the contract.
Former Manager, PCB, Intikhab Alam while addressing a press conference announced the names of 28 players after the final approval of Chairman PCB, Ejaz Butt. The players divided into three categories A, B and C. Six players are included in category A, eight in B and nine in C while five players will be awarded scholarships for six months.
A Category comprises Misbah Ul Haq, Younis Khan, Umar Gul, Muhammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rehman, while Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat, Sohail Tanveer, Asad Shafique, Wahab Riaz, Taufeeq Umar, Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal fall in B Category, whereas, Junaid Khan, Tanveer Ahmad, Hamad Azam, Sarfraz Ahmad, Sohail Khan, Adnan Akmal, Yasir Shah, Rameez Raja and Sharjil Khan are in Category C.
Those who will be awarded with scholarship are Muhammad Talha, Aizaz Cheema, Zulfiqar Babar, Raza Hasan and Muhammad Ayub Dogar.
Intikhab Alam added that Shoaib Malik cannot play cricket till clearance, as his case is with Integrity Committee and his future linked with Committee’s decision.
