Karachi: The difference in demand-supply of Power has decreased. The shortfall of power has declined to 4,400 megawatts.
Even though the increase in electricity production and decrease in consumption has taken, the duration of load shedding is still 10 to 12 hours a day in the rural areas and up to eight hours in the urban areas.
PEPCO authorities said power consumption is 17,632MWs while power production is 13,182MWs. KESC is being supplied 740MWs. Hydel power input is 5,270, thermal 1,956MWs, IPPs 5,834MWs and rental 122MWs. The shortfall has dropped by 800MWs.
