KARACHI: Two blast near Kati Pahari Qasba chowk in Karachi’s Orangi town area killed one and wounded nine persons including three children on Sunday, police said.
The police said one of the blasts due to cracker thrown at the site, while second blast of explosive material carried out using a planted device.
Fear and panic gripped the area after the blasts. While the police said that unidentified persons lobbed two crackers near Qasba chowk and run away from the scene.
Other witnesses said that the second blast was more intensive as compared to the first explosion.
Rescue personnel reached the scene and began shifting the victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Security personnel cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.
