KARACHI: Department of Plant Protection (DPP) had inspected 36 gardens in Sindh to approve for mangoes’ export to Europe recently, media reported.
Out of 36, only one garden was approved by Department of Plant Protection (DPP) to export mangoes to Europe
According to reports, all the gardens in Sindh were poorly maintained and mostly had cleanliness issues.
The DPP’s target was to select at least 50 gardens from Sindh for the export of mangoes to Europe but due to pathetic condition of most gardens, the DPP allowed just one to export mangoes to Europe.
This decision is a setback and will have a negative impact to economy as Pakistan has very few export goods and products.
