KARACHI: Rangers raided old Sabzi Mandi area and ceased weapons, grenades and explosives from fruit crates. The criminals managed to flee from the site and couldn’t be arrested.
Since September 5th more or less 300 people have been arrested on behalf of suspicion of being involved in terrorist activities. The law enforcement agencies led by the rangers have carried out operations throughout the city. On the other hand, the police too claim to have arrested 1,232 criminals in 975 raids.
However, the success rate of the targeted operations cannot be determined as the law enforcement agencies are unable to go any way near ‘no-go’ areas such as Manghopir and Sohrab Goth. There is no writ governed in such areas by the law enforcement agencies.
More or less 23 criminals were caught by Rangers in targeted raids and weapons were also seized from them. These criminals were alleged in various heinous crimes as claimed by the law enforcing agencies.
The rangers carried out operations in various areas including Machar Colony Dhani Bux Goth‚ Sector-7 Surjani Town‚ Metroville‚ Ali Brohi Goth‚ Hussain Hazara Goth‚ Afghan Camp‚ Qazafi Town‚ Shah Latif Town‚ Bin Qasim‚ 100 Quarters‚ Jamshed Quarters and Mohammadi Colony.
Rangers have also carried out snap checking in Do Talwar, Sanober heights and Paracha Chowk. On the other hand, police also jumped into action and carried out 84 raids including nine encounters and caught 134 alleged in crimes including kidnappers. 44 illicit weapons have been recovered along with narcotics.
