IPOH, Malaysia: Three-time Azlan Shah Cup winner Pakistan were hammered by India 4-2 on Sunday (today) as the their arch-rival secured fifth position in the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup.
Pakistan’s sloppy defending and poor finishing once again allowed their opposition to rule the game.
However, both teams played a fast-paced attacking game, entertaining the good number of holiday crowd that turned up to watch the inconsequential match.
Pakistani Skipper Muhammad Imran scored in the seventh minute through a penalty corner while Kashif Shah Syed found the target in the 46th minute.
India’s Rupinder scored through a penalty corner in the ninth minute and from a penalty stroke in the 62nd minute.
