Washington: United Stated President Barack Obama would take US people into confidence about the military operation in Libya on Monday evening in a nationally televised speech at National Defense University, White House said.
It will be his first formal explanation of the goals of this increasingly complex and dangerous mission.
Obama has been under criticism from Republicans in Congress for failing to provide a logical explanation of the operation in Libya.
In a Friday statement, the White House said Obama would “update the American people on the situation in Libya, including the actions we’ve taken with allies and partners to protect the Libyan people from the brutality of Muammar Qaddafi, the transition to NATO command and control, and our policy going forward.”
