Abbotabad: A foreign Non Government Organization has conducted a survey on sex related topics from teenager boys violating a ban imposed by authorities in garrison city of Abbotabad.
“The survey was carried out by a lady worker from “Marie Stops”, known for its efforts for family planning, on behalf of renowned NGO ‘Save The Children’,” quoted daily Ummat as saying.
After US operation in Abbotabad resulting in death of Osama Bin Laden, it is mandatory for NGOs to take NOC (No Object Certificate) from authorities before conducting any activity in the city.
The lady worker from “Marry Gold Stop” belongs to Haripur who with her over dozen colleagues were distributing an 8-page survey form.
According to law enforcement agencies, Save The Children have sought permission permission four to six times to provide Lady Health Workers and Medical Technician training which was refused by the authorities.
The lady started the survey from October 22 with her team. The survey form titles that “This research is regarding health and rights of youths in their adolescence.”
The form contains 52 questions mainly related to sex, marriage and divorce.
Though the survey belongs to health of young boys still it has questions related to young girls.
Some questions include “what boys and girls feel while going through physical changes.”
Others are “How pregnancy could be avoided? What is AIDS? What youth should do to avoid STDs.”
However, Save The Children Batgram official Major (Retd) Nadeem opined that the survey had nothing to do with his organization.
“If someone from the organization has asked for conducting this survey then it’s his personal act and should not be linked with Save The Children,” he added.
Commissioner Hazara Division of Pakistan, Khalid Umer Zai informed that a lady was arrested on conducting the survey and was released after a brief interrogation.
“She was told to get permission from the concerned authorities before conducting the survey in future.”
