KARACHI: Director General of Inter Service Public Relations (DG ISPR) Asim Bajwa has said on Tuesday that Karachi airport is now under control.
According to DG ISPR, three to four militants fired near Airport Security Forces (ASF) camp and fled away from the scene.
DG ISPR also confirmed that things are working normally at Jinnah International Airport now.
Airport Security Forces (ASF) camp outside Karachi airport was attacked by militants on Tuesday.
It’s a second attempt from terrorist in two days as heavily armed militants launched an assault on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on late Sunday night, leaving at least 37 dead including 10 militants.
It seems that Taliban have stick to their promise as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said about Sunday’s attack that it was just the beginning and more such attacks will be conducted throughout the country.
DG ASF ‘s statement
DG ASF, Azam Khan while talking to media, said that there was no proper attack on Karachi Airport, it was only a firing incident from some miscreants in Pehlwan Goth.
He further said that as soon as we heard the bullets, police, rangers and security forces personnel reached the spot and took control of the situation.
Azam Khan maintained that there is no security issue on Airport and the port is 100 percent secure
