ICC Agrees to Change Pakistani Team’s Hotel After PCB Chairman’s Complaint

Islamabad: Following strict notice of complaint from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the hotel for the Pakistan cricket team in New York has been changed.

According to reports, the Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to play two matches in New York on June 9 and 11. The initial hotel provided to the team was 90 minutes away from the stadium.

Sources indicate that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took strong notice of this issue, resulting in the change of the hotel for the Pakistan cricket team in New York. The new hotel is now just a 5-minute drive from the stadium.

The Indian cricket team was accommodated only 10 minutes away from the ground in New York, whereas other teams were placed more than an hour away.

South Africa and Sri Lanka had already expressed concerns about the facilities provided during their stay in New York.

Sources revealed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi contacted ICC officials to express dissatisfaction with the arrangements and persuaded the event organizers to change the hotel for the Pakistan team.

According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi made it clear to the ICC that he would not allow his team to travel long distances for any match, including those on June 9 and 11 in New York.

Mohsin Naqvi also made it clear to the ICC that if the Pakistani team’s hotel was not changed, he would relocate the team to a more suitable and convenient place at the PCB’s expense.

Sources mentioned that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi told the ICC that the national cricket team is his responsibility and that he would ensure the players’ comfort at all costs.
