Karachi: Five people were injured due to a powerful explosion caused by gas accumulation in a drain in Karachi, which also damaged several vehicles.
According to the police, gas had accumulated in the drain near the Practical Center in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, leading to a loud explosion heard from a distance. The roof constructed over the drain was blown off and landed far from the site.
Five individuals were injured in the explosion, and several cars and motorcycles were damaged. Initial reports suggest that the explosion occurred while fireworks were being set off outside a nearby wedding hall.
The explosion caused panic in the area, and upon receiving the news, police forces and rescue teams arrived at the scene. The injured were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
