Karachi: In Karachi’s Landhi area, near Manshehra Colony, a suicide bombing attack on a vehicle carrying Japanese citizens resulted in the death of 2 terrorists and injuries to 3 locals.
According to police, the incident involved a suicide attack on the vehicle. After the explosion, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations, transferring the injured to the hospital.
The incident occurred earlier in the day in Landhi’s Mansehra Colony, where two terrorists were killed in the attack. According to police reports, the assailants, riding a motorcycle, targeted the van carrying the foreign nationals. A bag containing grenades and a Kalashnikov was recovered from the scene.
As per police reports, the targeted vehicle had Japanese nationals on board. The front part of the affected vehicle has suffered severe damage due to the explosion.
The two injured individuals identified are Noor Muhammad, aged 45, and Langar Khan, aged 45. Both were security guards and were present in the vehicle for the protection of foreigners.
According to police, there were five foreign nationals in the van targeted in the suicide attack. All foreigners in the van are safe and have been shifted to a secure location. One suicide attacker died in the bombing, while the police shot and killed the other accomplice.
Police say that according to initial information, the second terrorist killed in the encounter also detonated a suicide bomb. The body of the deceased terrorist has a suicide jacket and a grenade attached.The Bomb Disposal Squad will examine the area.
