Lahore: Pakistan National Cricket team’s middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has stated, “After Allah, I trust the Sharif family.”
In an interview with a private television channel, middle-order batsman Umar Akmal expressed his intentions to excel in international cricket if given the opportunity.
Umar Akmal complained, “There have been some issues in my life that have troubled me. I have not been allowed to play cricket for quite some time.”
“The senior officials at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are becoming personal with me. I have shown my performance and requested for an opportunity,” he added.
He further said that after Allah, I have faith in the Sharif family. Inshallah, if I get a chance, I will make a comeback in international cricket.
He mentioned that personal relationships matter, expressing gratitude to Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for always giving him time.
It should be noted that 34-year-old Umar Akmal last represented Pakistan in a match against Sri Lanka in 2019.
