Army Chief Gen Asim Munir Extends Iftaar Dinner Invitation to Cricketers

Rawalpindi: The Army Chief Gen Asim Munir has extended an invitation to the Pakistani cricketers currently undergoing training at Kakul Academy for an Iftaar dinner.

The cricketers, who have been engaged in rigorous fitness training at the academy, are set to conclude their sessions on April 7. Following the conclusion of their training, they will depart Abbottabad for Rawalpindi, where they will have the opportunity to break their fast in the company of the army chief.

The invitation comes on the heels of Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s recent visit to Kakul. Naqvi visited the academy to personally oversee the ongoing fitness camp, which is being conducted by trainers from the Pakistan Army, ahead of Pakistan’s T20 series against New Zealand.

During his visit, Naqvi aimed to gain firsthand insights into the training camp and to extend gratitude to the army for their invaluable support in organizing the camp. He also took the opportunity to interact with the players, commending them for their dedication and active participation in the camp.

The fitness camp has been instrumental in enhancing the physical capabilities of Pakistan’s T20 players, ensuring they are in optimal condition for the forthcoming cricketing assignments, including the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled for June this year.
