IRSA Reveals Which Province Will Get How Much Water

Islamabad: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has announced that a total of 6.36 million acre-feet of water will be available for the Kharif season in the provinces.

According to media reports, it was clarified during a meeting of the IRSA advisory committee that for the Kharif crop, Punjab will receive 31.1 million acre-feet, Sindh will receive 28.8 million acre-feet, Balochistan will receive around 2.85 million acre-feet, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) will receive less than 0.825 million acre-feet of water.

At the beginning of the Kharif season, there is an estimated 30% water shortage, which is expected to decrease to 7% by the end of the season. All provinces will be provided water according to their requirements.
