Los Angeles: During the sacred month of Ramadan, American rapper and producer Jonathan H. Smith converted to Islam.
Jonathan H. Smith, known by his fans as Lil Jon, visited the King Fahad Mosque in California last Friday. During this visit, Lil Jon recited the Islamic declaration of faith in front of hundreds of people, officially entering the fold of Islam.
A video shared on social media shows the American rapper being guided by the mosque’s imam, reciting the declaration first in Arabic and then in English.
Later, the American rapper shared a post on Instagram, expressing gratitude, “Alhamdulillah, Thank you so much brothers and sisters for the outpouring of love and positivity”
According to international media reports, Lil Jon, born in 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, has more than one million followers on Instagram.
Furthermore, Lil Jon is widely known for promoting hip-hop music in the early 2000s.
