President Asif Zardari Designates Daughter Asifa Bhutto as First Lady

Islamabad: The newly elected President, Asif Ali Zardari has announced his decision to designate his daughter, Asifa Bhutto Zardari, as the first lady of Pakistan.

Asifa Bhutto Zardari, the youngest child of Asif Ali Zardari and the late Benazir Bhutto, will be officially declared as the first lady by her father, President Zardari. This decision marks a departure from the conventional practice of appointing the president’s spouse to the role of first lady.

Asifa Bhutto Zardari’s appointment as the first lady will grant her the protocol and privileges associated with the position. Typically, the title of First Lady is attributed to the spouse. Asifa Bhutto Zardari will be the first daughter to hold the position of First Lady, being the daughter of the President.

Born on February 3, 1993, Asifa Bhutto Zardari has been actively involved in politics since joining the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Notably, she played an active role in spearheading the election campaign for her brother, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during the general elections held on February 8.

Asifa’s close relationship with her father and her significant contributions to the PPP have solidified her position within the party and the political landscape of Pakistan.

During President Zardari’s oath-taking ceremony held yesterday, Asifa Bhutto Zardari accompanied her father, symbolizing her increasing prominence in national politics and her integral role within the presidential administration.
