Lahore: Saud Shakeel stated that becoming a captain is a matter of pride, and although he may not actively seek captaincy however if the opportunity arises, he will definitely accept it.
Speaking to the media, Saud Shakeel, the vice-captain of Quetta Gladiators, said that he understands the challenge of being a captain and sees it as an opportunity to learn and he has always enjoyed captaincy.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Quetta Gladiators has made a promising start in the tournament. Reflecting on his own contributions, he expressed satisfaction with his performance, particularly in his new role as an opener. This strategic decision was made by the Quetta Gladiators’ management just two days prior to the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The vice-captain of Quetta Gladiators highlighted his experience, noting that during his tenure as captain of the Under-19 team, he fostered a positive environment in the dressing room through effective leadership. In first-class cricket, he showcased versatility by batting at both number 3 and number 5 for the national team. While he previously contemplated his position in the lineup, he now embraces every batting opportunity as a challenge, regardless of the number.
