Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mustafa Kamal has confirmed the authenticity of his leaked audio, stating that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has declared MQM’s mandate to be 100% fake.
In the leaked audio, recorded during an MQM-P Rabita Committee meeting, Kamal can be heard discussing the circumstances surrounding a meeting between his party’s delegation and PML-N representatives. Kamal revealed that the PML-N leaders appeared hesitant during the meeting and disclosed plans to meet with PPP leadership afterward.
“We were called late at night to meet the PML-N people. It seems they were reluctant to meet us,” Kamal stated in the leaked audio.
Speaking in the leaked audio of his party meeting, Mustafa Kamal said that a message was sent by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the important meeting held with the PPP, the latter stated that MQM-P’s mandate is “100% fake” and expressing a desire for MQM-P to be sidelined in government formation due to the complete numerical strength of the PML-N and PPP.
Mustafa Kamal said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) invited us late at night, it felt like we were forcefully pushed into the room and were told to sit down. PML-N was not in a meeting mood; it seemed like if invited, we should attend. The meeting lasted 40 to 45 minutes.
Confirming the authenticity of the leaked audio in a video statement, Kamal clarified that the purpose was to inform MQM-P members about the discussions with PML-N.
Kamal stated that they had information for many days that some people from MQM-London affiliated individuals were part of the Rabta committee but they couldn’t confirm who it was. However, the forensic of the audio leak has revealed the identity of the MQM-London’s agent
Kamal speculated that MQM-London released the audio in an attempt to leverage it against MQM-P, believing they had obtained something significant.
